LIVERPOOL TARGET FORMER COVENTRY PLAYER

There are reports that English Premier League side, Liverpool FC are lining up the huge sum of 20 million pounds for former Coventry player, Callum Wilson. Liverpool boss, Jurgen Klopp is being reported by The Sun to be keen on acquiring the target for The Reds. The German boss has been eyeing the talented player after the 24-year old returned from a long-term knee injury for AFC Bournemouth earlier this month.

Callum Wilson is likely the replacement for huge summer transfer buzz for The Reds, Christian Benteke who has failed to impress at Anfield. With Danny Ings still injured, the coach could move for the Coventry star, Wilson along with West Ham left-back Aaron Cresswell in a deal worth £35m.

Callum Wilson scored five goals in six league matches before picking up the injury that kept him out of action for seven months. Since returning to full action, the Borunemouth has made two substitute appearances including in their 2-1 defeat at home to The Reds last weekend.

The centre forward started with the Coventry academy team before breaking into first team in 2010. He was sent on loan to Kettering Town, Tamworth before his eventual sale to Bournemouth for 2.78 million pounds in 2014. From the deal agreed with his current club, any transfer could see the Sky Blues get a portion due to the sell-on clause understood to be between ten and 15 per cent.

English Championship side Bournemouth moved to snapped up the striker and he has since helped the team to the Premier League with 20 league goals. His form in the top flight led to calls for an England call-up before injury struck earlier this season. Coventry themselves are struggling this season and are in 11th position in the League one
